About Katie

Born and raised in Johnstown, PA, Katie Wise Charlton’s journey has been one of adaptability, resilience, and success. Katie's early life in Pennsylvania shaped her tenacity and drive which carried her through an impressive career spanning multiple industries and regions.

Katie attended Bishop McCort Catholic High School, before moving on to earn a B.A. in Communications from the University of Pittsburgh. Her career began with roles in franchise sales and institutional food marketing, where she was known for her innovative approaches and ability to break into male-dominated fields. However, it was her transition to real estate, after years of personal investment in properties, that truly allowed her to shine.

Katie became a managing real estate broker in 2006 in Williston, Florida and later became licensed in both Texas and Connecticut, too. Katie has a deep understanding of luxury real estate, having bought, sold and developed properties in exclusive areas such as Vero Beach, Gulfstream, Manalapan, Stuart, and Ocala Florida. Katie's reputation for being tenacious, conscientious, and reliable is complemented by her strategic approach to every transaction. Whether dealing with oceanfront condos or sprawling ranches, Katie is known for her ability to highlight the most marketable features and secure optimal prices for her clients.

Having lived in multiple states including Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, Georgia, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey and Texas, Katie has a broad knowledge about various parts of the country. While Katie and her husband lived in Marathon, Florida, she built a 7,200 square foot home while also raising her three young children. Not satisfied with the daycare opportunities, Katie incorporated and founded the Community Co-operative Pre-School of Marathon which is the longest continually operating co-op pre-school in the country. At her next home in Colorado, she became an avid "cutter" buying cowponies from one of the founders of the National Cutting Horse Association. She also taught her children to ski in the Rockies. Back on the east coast in New York, Katie bought a restaurant in New York City and expanded to three more. Longing for the Florida lifestyle, Katie and her family moved to Gulfstream, Florida where they owned a 5-acre waterfront luxury estate. At the same time, she bought land in Georgia starting out with 1,200 acres and expanding it 6,000 acres where she bred, raised and trained cutting horses while also building a mother herd of beef cattle.

When she’s not helping real estate clients here in Vero Beach, Katie loves spending time with her three grown children, seven grandchildren and her young-at-heart mother. Katie enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, diving, biking, horseback riding, snowboarding and walking on the beach or Jungle Trail. She is a passionate watercolor artist, capturing the beauty of the Treasure Coast. Katie also volunteers for the Environmental Learning Center and Holy Cross Catholic Church.

In addition to loving the Vero Beach lifestyle, Katie has visited many different countries including the Bahamas, Great Britan, Scotland, Newfoundland, Canada, Costa Rica, and other European countries.

Katie's primary goal is to deliver unparalleled service, ensuring that every client feels valued and satisfied throughout their real estate journey. Contact Katie today by calling/texting 281-685-9443 or emailing Katie@AlexMacWilliam.com.
