If you’re like many people buying a home for sale in Vero Beach, you’ve looked at plenty of real estate listings – and some of them may even say that a house needs a little “TLC” before you can move in.

But what does that really mean? Here’s what you need to know.

What Does it Mean When a Real Estate Listing Says the House Needs “TLC”?

When a real estate agent lists a home and says that it needs a little tender-loving care, or TLC, it means that you’re going to have your work cut out for you. It could mean that there are major systems in the home that aren’t working, or that the house is pretty dated and could use a major refresh.

Should You Buy a Home That Needs TLC?

If you’re prepared to put some work into a home, you don’t have to skip over listings that say they need a little TLC. However, be aware that once you buy a house, it’s yours – and you’re the one responsible for making sure it’s up to code and livable according to your own standards.

You might have a tough time financing a home that needs major repairs, too, so keep that in mind unless you’re paying cash.
