Should You Install Quartz Countertops to Sell Your Home?

If you’re like many people selling a home in Vero Beach, you’re on the lookout for ways you can improve it so it’ll sell faster – but have you considered quartz countertops? Buyers love them, but could they really help you sell? Here’s what you need to know.

Should You Install Quartz Countertops to Sell Your Home?

Quartz countertops are incredibly popular with homebuyers, and they’re much easier to maintain than many other materials. However, there are a few downsides – including cost. You may not need to spend your hard-earned money on upgrading your countertops. 

Quartz is a great material for counters, though. It’s non-porous, which means it resists stains better than granite, marble and other materials. It’s also easy to clean, and because it’s non-porous, you can be sure you’re getting all the bacteria, viruses and other undesirables when you wash it. However, it has a few drawbacks, as well, including:

  • Quartz isn’t as heat-resistant as countertops made from other materials, such as granite, concrete or crushed glass
  • It features a contemporary look, which may not mesh well with the rest of your kitchen
  • It’s pricey, clocking in at between $115 and $200 per square foot (although those prices are similar to other popular countertop materials)

The Bottom Line: Talk to Your REALTOR®

You should absolutely talk to your REALTOR before you decide to make any costly improvements just to sell your home. The last thing you want to do is make an investment that doesn’t pay off at the closing table or that doesn’t help you sell your home faster. You may not even need to make improvements – your home may be just fine (and sell quickly and at the right price) as-is.
