If you’re like many people who are selling a home in Vero Beach, you’ll see the buyer’s home inspection report and be a bit surprised – and it’s okay. It happens to a lot of people, because inspectors look over everything… and when you live in the home, you’re used to little quirks and issues (and might not even see them as problems).

But in some cases, it’s a good idea to hire a home inspector of your own – and to do so long before you put your house on the market.

Should You Hire a Home Inspector Before You Sell Your Home?

Hiring a home inspector can put you ahead of the curve. Sure, it costs you money – but if you spend that money now, you could end up saving money later. That’s because you can use the inspection report to make it easier to price your home and make the right repairs before the buyer’s inspector even comes on the scene.

Remember, too, that buyers are going to look at the inspection report as a negotiating tool. They’re either going to ask you to come down on the price of your home or to fix the issues at that time while meeting their offer terms. In the worst-case scenario, your buyers will just walk away from the deal.

This way, when there isn’t much on the home inspection report for them to negotiate with, you’ll end up making more money on the sale of your home.
