Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be an ordeal. Use these tips to shrink your To Do list as the weather warms up!

Keep a Clear Head

Over time, showerheads can become clogged with mineral deposits in water. Clear away the buildup by misting the showerhead with a solution of 50 percent white vinegar and 50 percent water. Allow the fixture to sit for several minutes, then wipe it clean using a dry cloth.

Clean Screens

Use a scrap of carpet as a brush to clean your window and door screens. The fibers will squeeze through the wire grid of your screens and remove dirt and debris.

Prioritize Your Pantry

Sort through your pantry and place newer food items in the back and bring older ones to the front, according to their expiration dates. Make an effort to consume foods that are expected to expire in the very near future, first.

Waste Not, Want Not

Don’t let another thing in your fridge expire and go to waste. After you clean your refrigerator organize it by placing highly perishable items in the front, and sort and place longer lasting ingredients by category.

Bedtime Bliss

You can clean your mattress quickly and easily. Using the upholstery attachment on your vacuum cleaner, vacuum the surface of your mattress. Next, sprinkle on a mixture of baking soda and a few drops of an essential oil like lavender, which promotes relaxation. Allow it to sit for as little as 30 minutes, or as much as two hours, then vacuum it up so you can start counting sheep.

Clean Your Curtains

To give the lower portion of your drapes a quick clean from dust and pet fur simply use a lint roller. If you want a more comprehensive clean put them in the dryer for 15 minutes on the air-fluff cycle. Include a damp towel, which will attract dust from the curtains. Rehang them directly afterward.

Shine Your Surfaces

A quick and simple mixture of 50 percent rubbing alcohol and 50 percent water will clean glass, chrome, and stainless steel appliances. Polish using a dry cloth.
