McKee Botanical Garden

The McKee Botanical Garden is an oasis of serenity and beauty. This non-profit organization's mission is to preserve, cultivate and display a living collection of native plants in a historic garden setting. The Garden first opened to the public in 1932, and today spans over 18 acres. Visitors can stroll through winding paths and bridges, and see majestic palms, cycads, rare and endangered plants from around the world. The McKee Botanical Garden is open every day from 10am to 5pm. Admission is $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 6 through 12, and free for children under six.

McLarty Treasure Museum

The McLarty Treasure Museum is a great place to learn about the famous 1715 Spanish treasure fleet shipwrecks. These ships were carrying gold, silver and jewels from South America back to Spain when they sank in a hurricane off the coast of Vero Beach. Today, scuba divers can still see some of the shipwreck sites. The McLarty Treasure Museum has artifacts from these shipwrecks on display, as well as interactive exhibits about the history of treasure hunting in Florida. Admission to the museum is $5 for adults and $3 for children 6 through 12. It's open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
