3 More Tips and Tricks You Can Use to Make Your Small Bedroom Look Bigger
Dated: April 25 2021
Your bedroom may be a little small, but it doesn’t have to look or feel like it. Here are three more tips and tricks for a bigger-looking boudoir.
Expose the Windows
Leaving your bedroom windows uncovered can allow as much natural light in as possible and give your room an airy and spacious feeling. If the positioning of your bedroom windows makes it so you can’t leave your windows uncovered, consider dressing them with sheer panels—they’ll give the windows coverage while still letting light penetrate.
Mounted sconces can be ideal in a small bedroom because they eliminate the need for floor lamps, which take up space, and allow you to do away with table lamps and their wide shades which can take up a lot of visual space. Even better, opt for wall sconces that have swinging arms. They can be moved and adjusted for reading, and other tasks.
Hang Large Art and Mirrors
A wall gallery, with frames of different shapes and sizes, can make for a great feature wall in a space. In a small bedroom, however, a gallery may not be the best use of a wall because it will break up the space, and may even make it look cramped.
Rather than hanging lots of small pieces on your walls opt for large ones. For instance, one large piece of art and a large mirror. Consider placing the art over your bed, or in another prominent place in your room, and position a large mirror on the opposite wall. Not only will the mirror reflect the art, as well as your accessories and furniture, back into the bedroom, but it will direct natural light throughout your space and help make it appear brighter and larger.
