If you're thinking about selling your home in Vero Beach, you'll want to make sure it's ready for buyers to fall in love with before you list it - but you can only do that if you've tackled these three essential tasks.

3 Little Things You Have to Do Before You List your Home

Check out these three tasks you need to handle before you list:

  • Clean and declutter your space
  • Tackle small repairs
  • Boost your curb appeal

Let's take a closer look at each.

#1. Clean and declutter your space

Buyers want to see that a house they're interested in buying is clean and easy to maintain - and you can help them see that (even if cleaning isn't your favorite way to spend a day) by making sure yours is spotless and in good repair.

We often recommend hiring a cleaning company to do a one-time deep-clean in the house before you list it. That way, you only have to maintain what the cleaning company has done while your house is on the market.

#2. Tackle small repairs

Minor repairs, like a leaky faucet or a scratch in the wall, need to be fixed before you list your house. Also:

  • Replace caulk around the tubs and sinks
  • Repair grout if necessary
  • Replace damaged window screens
  • Replace burned-out light bulbs

#3. Boost your curb appeal

Buyers start forming their first impression of your home when they pull up on the street in front of it - and you need that impression to be so good that they carry it into the house with them. Boost your curb appeal by:

  • Mowing the lawn
  • Trimming bushes, shrubs and trees
  • Repairing or upgrading gutters and downspouts
  • Cleaning the concrete and repairing cracks
