When you're selling your home in Vero Beach, your real estate agent will talk to you about curb appeal and how important it is for your house to make a great first impression.
If your house doesn't inspire excitement when buyers pull up (or drive by before their showing appointment), they're going to keep going.
Here are three fast curb appeal fixes you can do in one day to improve your home's exterior appearance.
3 Fast Curb Appeal Fixes
Three easy things you can do to boost your curb appeal are:
- Clean up the yard
- Paint accent areas
- Put up new house numbers
Let's look at each of these.
Curb Appeal Fix #1: Clean up the yard.
Trim the bushes, mow your lawn, wash off your driveway and sidewalk, and make sure all the children's toys are picked up and put away. The cleaner your yard looks, the better your whole home will look - so you'll have to mow regularly, water the grass and make sure the kids stash their bikes, scooters, footballs and other gear in the garage while your house is on the market.
Curb Appeal Fix #2: Paint accent areas.
Accent areas like trim, the front door and your shutters can get dingy-looking over time, so if washing them isn't making them sparkle like new, think about repainting them. That way, you might be able to avoid repainting the entire house - and it's like an instant facelift for your home.
If you're not too handy with a brush, or if you have two stories that could use a little touch-up, it's probably a good idea to hire a professional.
Curb Appeal Fix #3: Put up new house numbers.
Pick up new, modern-looking house numbers at your favorite home improvement store and put them on the house. Buyers will be looking for them as they try to find your address, which means they need to be attractive and on-trend.
