The Source is a charity that serves lunch and dinner to up to 120 individual guests on a daily basis in a restaurant-style atmosphere, and provides those in need with showers, haircuts, blankets, homeless survival kits, and even bicycles. The organization’s Critical Needs List itemizes clothing, hygiene items, and outdoor survival gear of which they are always in need.

On nights when temperatures are forecast to fall below 35 degrees the charity provides overnight shelter. It also offers social skills development, employment training, Bible study, and Sunday services.

The Women’s Refuge of Vero Beach welcomes contributions to its ministry through the donation of goods to The Refuge Resale Shop, which sells new and gently-used clothing, accessories, furniture, household items, home décor, art, and books. Proceeds from the sale of donated items help Women’s Refuge cater to women who are experiencing emotional and mental turmoil. The organization offers support groups, as well as counseling for individuals, married couples, and families. It coordinates physicians, agencies, and churches to provide individualized treatment.

Camp Haven, an organization that serves homeless men in Indian River County, accepts household items at its campus. The charity seeks to help rebuild the lives of homeless men through the provision of temporary housing, meals, and the personal support of sobriety groups, one-on-one psychological counseling, and educational programs. Counselors help the men set long-term goals for success.
