About Sharon

Whether it is being around her family, trying new restaurants, going to theaters and museums, or attending Calvary Chapel of Vero Beach, Sharon Costelac is a very diverse person. She was born and raised in Oceanside, Long Island, New York. In 1983, her family moved to South Florida to the City of Aventura and resided in the Turnberry Yacht and Country Club community. She graduated from North Miami Beach Senior High School. After high school, Sharon played college tennis for both Miami-Dade Community College, where she also obtained an A.A. in Business Administration and St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida, where she received a B.A. in history, graduating Cum Laude. She later attended Nova Southeastern University to receive her paralegal certificate.

In addition to her education, Sharon has accumulated years of professional work experience which has enhanced her detailed-oriented skills. She worked in the legal field for 16 years, primarily for large law firms, as a residential and commercial real estate paralegal. While living in Michigan, Sharon worked for First American Title Insurance Company as well as General Motors’ legal department as a paralegal reviewing various types of advertising, primarily for the North American Hispanic region and the Southeast North American region.

Later in her career, Sharon began working for SBA Communications in Boca Raton, Florida for the third largest wireless communication infrastructure company, where she reported to the Vice President of Site Leasing. As Ground Leasing Manager, she was responsible for the Ground Leasing Team for the Central America and North America (USA and Canada) markets. Her position entailed ground expansions as well as review and approval of various wireless telecommunication contracts between SBA, carriers and ground owners. She later worked as a consultant for SBA on various projects.

Real estate runs in Sharon’s blood. Her parents left Argentina to discover their dream in America. Throughout the years, Sharon’s mother invested in the hair salon business in New York and Florida and also in real estate in New York, South Florida, Vero Beach and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Through these family business experiences, Sharon learned management and customer service skills early on in her life. Currently, Sharon’s mother has retired from owning her hair salon businesses, however, at age 84, she is still a landlord and real estate investor. She relies on Sharon to manage her properties and review her tenant leases and other real estate transactions.

Sharon and her husband, John, discovered Vero Beach while visiting his godmother’s home in Vero Beach’s finger islands. They fell in love with the small town feel of Vero Beach and how friendly the local people are. Through this experience, they decided to move their family from South Florida to Vero Beach. They have two children – Jordan who loves fishing and Angelina who loves ballet and art. They also have a five-year old Shih Tzu Maltese poodle mix named Spencer. Sharon’s husband leads Direct Connect Auto Transport, a premier logistics company that recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. Established in 2002, they are experts at handling oversized and over-dimensional shipments. They are also the go-to choice for snowbirds, dealership groups and renowned sports teams when it comes to moving vehicles safely and efficiently

Sharon is fluent in Spanish and has traveled extensively to various international and domestic locations such as Argentina, Guatemala, Mexico, Canada, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, the Caribbean, Alaska, Michigan, Massachusetts, Pittsburg, West Virgina, Georgia and Colorado.

Sharon and her family enjoy going out to some of Vero Beach’s popular restaurants. A few of their favorites are Ocean Grill, Bonefish Grill, Scampi’s, Redwok, Pizzoodles and Tratorria Dario. You might also see Sharon on the tennis court, biking, swimming or maybe even sky diving. She did jump out of an airplane once to sky dive to dispel her fear of heights. She may still be a bit timid of heights, but she is proud to have accomplished the dive!
