About Heather

A true Florida native born in Cocoa Beach, Florida, Heather Reeb’s family moved to south Florida when she was two.  After being raised in Miami Shores and Pembroke Pines and graduating from Miramar High School, she went on to the University of Florida, obtaining her master’s degree in early childhood education.  Heather then began her teaching career in Deerfield Beach before moving to Vero Beach in 2002.  Then, in 2009, after teaching kindergarten at Beachland Elementary, she decided to start her own tutoring business…Vero Reading Garden that has been servicing the children of Indian River County ever since. Her passion for education is also seen through working with future educators at Indian River State College, as an adjunct professor in the Early Childhood Education program.  

When not working and raising her two teenaged boys, who both play the Viola, you can find Heather running and training for marathons.  She raised over $11,000 for the American Cancer Society by running the London Marathon in April 2023 and is working on completing the six “Abbott World Marathon Majors” having already done the New York, Chicago, and London marathons and the Berlin, Tokyo, and Boston ones left for the series. Her son Carter is studying Cyber Security at Indian River State College IRSC, and Harrison, a senior at Vero Beach High School plans to go to Skyborne to be a pilot after graduation, and rounding out the family are a beagle named Boonie and an Australian Labradoodle named Hershey.  Heather’s charitable work for the American Cancer Society continues with her quest to raise BIG funds by co-chairing the Denim & Diamonds Gala taking place in December 2023.
