About Lisa
Summering or Wintering – Lisa Pyden loves being rooted-in as a year-rounder in a beautiful, well-established community of wonderful neighbors.
Like many other Floridians who establish permanent roots, Lisa and her husband began their journey to Vero Beach by way of winter vacations in Old Naples, each visit ending with a yearning to relocate permanently from Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard, where they raised their family and worked year-round. The perfect opportunity came after both of their children graduated from high school, and they decided to take a road trip together with them.
“We weren’t sure if the Gulf Coast could be a permanent choice for us, it was getting over-crowded in Naples, so we thought we would take an all-around Florida road trip with our college-age kids to search for our new home. We embarked on a week-long journey that included Amelia Island, Ponte Vedra, Vero Beach, Jupiter, Delray Beach, and Boca Raton and then headed west to all of Naples, and into Fort Meyers and Sarasota. We packed a lot in, in just one week, and might have missed Vero had a client from Palm Beach not mentioned it as a ‘must stop’. It wasn’t even on our radar! In our wrap-up of the trip, our minds were convinced - it was absolutely Vero. I think it was the drive over the Barber Bridge that got me - the intracoastal water and boats reminded me of the Vineyard, it felt like home, only a world away with the landscape of palm trees and live oaks with Spanish moss. It’s such an amazing coastline, pristine aqua blue water beaches - like something out of a luxurious Caribbean destination, without the high-rises! We purchased some beach chairs at Deep Six Dive and Watersports and decided to try the beach out for size - heaven. After getting to know more of Vero Beach on a second visit, it was the super friendly attitude of everyone we met and the tight-knit feel of the community that checked all the boxes for us.”
Lisa has extensive real estate experience. In her 15-year real estate career, as both a real estate advisor for one of the leading real estate brokerage firms on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, and as an interior designer in the hospitality industry (hotels, restaurants, investment rental properties) she has procured opportunities for both buyers and sellers from shingled cottages to luxurious waterfront homes. She was educated at Lawrence Technological University in Michigan (where she grew up) and at the Interior Designers Institute in Newport Beach, CA in architecture and interior design and is highly effective in the extensive remodeling and reconstruction of older homes. Lisa is particularly fond of Vero Beach historic and vintage properties built from the 1920’s – 1970’s and is passionate about helping people who have interest in finding these hidden gems or building one with those aesthetic qualities.
“Vero’s vintage homes offer something unique and rare and are often found in wonderful settings on the water and in town. I just can’t get enough of this type of classic Old Florida style which exudes such a relaxed elegance.”
Lisa and her husband live in a British West Indies architectural style home they recently remodeled in Vero Beach. Their daughter lives with her husband and adorable baby girl in Texas, and their son relocated with them to Florida where he lives, surfs and works on the Space Coast. Lisa volunteers for ORCA (Ocean Research & Conservation Association) in Vero Beach and is becoming involved with local veterans’ groups. Both grandfathers served in WWII and several family members served in the Gulf. Her father, a former design engineer at Ford Motor Co., served in the US Navy during Vietnam (USS Forestall) and lost his life to kidney cancer at the age of 54. Her mom is a retired cardiac nurse who enjoys visiting them for extended stays in Vero.
Lisa’s wholehearted commitment to providing attentive personal service are why her expansive nationwide circle of previous clients, investors and former real estate colleagues continue to call on her over the years. She looks forward to assisting you with your needs, as well. Please feel free to call 772-532-2908 or email her at Lisa@AlexMacWilliam.com anytime.
