Amie Alexander, Realtor®
Amie was born in Thailand. Her father is Laotian and her mother is Thai. Her father was a military figure fighting against the communists and much of our early years found them moving from place to place and often hiding from the communists. At the conclusion of the Vietnam War, it was no longer safe to stay in Laos so her family was forced to move back to Thailand and lived there in a refugee camp for 3 years before being sponsored by a church in Elgin II, for immigration as political refugees. In 1978, at the age of 13, her family consisting of her mom and dad and 6 siblings, was fortunate enough to call Elgin II home for 5 years. Amie has been married since 1995 and now has 2 beautiful children. Lindsay is 10 years and attends 4th grade at Rosewood Magnet School. Wesley is 7 and is in 2nd grade. They are members of First United Methodist. Amie's husband Frank E Alexander Jr. owns and operated an Allstate Insurance Agency here in Vero in the Miracle Mile Plaza. Amie and her husband have worked side by side together for 15 years in the insurance business and she is also a licensed insurance agent. They have built the insurance agency largely through referrals and word of mouth. After 15 years of working together they have decided to diversify and she is now pursuing a new career as a Realtor in Vero Beach Florida. It has been a life long dream of Amie's to become a Realtor, however, Frank and her still consult often with each other about their various industries and gain valuable insight that they both find beneficial about the other's industry. Thank you for your time in getting to know her. If Amie can help you in anyway, or if you know of someone buying or selling a home or property that could use her help, please give them Amie's name. Her personal website is www.VeroHomeSales.com. |

Debra Banks, Realtor®
How lucky am I to be selling real estate in Vero Beach, Florida!
I love the diversity of selling properties in our gated golf course & tennis communities, ocean beach condos, as well as homes in both the island and mainland.
My husband and I have been coming down to Vero Beach for the past 16 years, and have seen first hand, this stunningly beautiful little town, blossom into the most desirable place to live in Florida. My experiences living in Toronto, Vancouver and San Francisco allow me to assure my real estate buyers that investing in Vero Beach is not only an excellent business decision, but they are also choosing one of the most desirable locations in North America in which to spend all or part of their time. As a "Baby Boomer" who was ready to leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind, Vero Beach is truly an oasis. The Vero Beach real estate market continues to strengthen and low density growth is on the rise. It is truly exiting to be introducing this picturesque ocean town to newcomers and assisting them in their dream home search!
I am married to a golf & hockey nut, have four grown children and two grandchildren. When not working, my husband and I enjoy boating, fishing, golf, shopping and travel.
I love this dynamic business, especially the thrill of negotiating the best real estate deal possible for my clients. I look forward to assisting you with your home purchase here in Vero Beach, FLorida on the Treasure Coast. Visit my website at: www.realestate-verobeach.com

Stuart Kennedy, Broker Associate, GRI
"We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak" so said the Greek Philosopher, Epictetus, around 55AD
If you're buying property
Do you want a Realtor to tell you what you should buy. What you should not buy. What you need.
Or, do you want to work with someone who listens to what you're saying. What you're thinking. What your priorities are. What your ideas are. What motivates you.
If you're selling property
Do you want your Realtor to just say "yes" to everything.
Or do you want to be involved with someone who understands how the market works. Understands the process of selling. Can give you a good guide to pricing. Can help make your house more sellable. Can give you real supportive help through the process.
I've been in the "people" business all my life. Caring for people. Managing people. Supporting people. Helping them work to timetables and deadlines. Looking after the finer details of business. Negotiating with others. Making sure things go smoothly. I've worked in large corporations. I've run my own company for 18 years. I understand how business works.
I'm originally from London, England and, with my American wife Kitty, moved to Vero Beach in 2002. We love it here. We're both actively involved in the community. It's the best place in the world.
If you need support in any Real Estate business, I'm your man.
Just give me a ring and find out why so many others have been appreciative of my help.

James "Jim" Knapp, REALTOR®, GRI
Jim specializes in barrier island homes and condominiums from the Sebastian Inlet, south through Windsor, Orchid, John's Island, Indian River Shores, Vero Beach, south beach, the Moorings area and North Hutchinson Island, a 27 mile coastal paradise between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway (Indian River). Properties range from $120,000. for a condo to $30,000.000.+ for a private ocean-to-river estate. Jim knows the best beaches, good waterfront (ocean, riverfront, Intracoastal), choice residential golf/tennis communities, pet friendly and family friendly communities. In June 2009, CNNMoney.com reported Vero Beach as "the most undervalued metro area in the nation." (Check the link on my website). Previously, Vero has been reported as "the Best Small Town in Florida." Indian River County and Vero Beach are uniquely located just on the edge of the tropics without the congestion of south Florida. From the oak tree canopied island with miles of unspoiled beaches, endless boating opportunities, low-rise construction, strict zoning controls, abundant cultural resources, walking trails and environmental preserves, Vero Beach is on the map in a good way. Jim and his wife, Janet, raised two children in Vero Beach from pre-school forward. Both attended Beachland Elementary (public) and the private Saint Edwards School, providing them with a good foundation for success in college and beyond. Both have since graduated from college but call Vero Beach home, having been raised in a unique community. Jim is a 23 year resident of Vero Beach, marketing homes for buyers and sellers for Alex MacWilliam, Inc. Real Estate the past 12 years. He specializes in providing high quality professional services to buyers and sellers having been involved in real estate and banking for 30 years. He was with Chase Manhattan in NY for 11 years and another 10 years with a local financial institution. Market and transaction knowledge, confidentiality, integrity and the thrill of the hunt for the right property are what drive Jim to help his clients succeed. If the client succeeds, Jim succeeds. Jim is a graduate of St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY (also where his daughter graduated from in 2003). His son is a 2007 graduate of Union College, Schenectady, NY. Kai Martin, Sales Associate, CRSC
Kai Martin has been calling Vero Beach and the barrier island "home" for 30 years. When she arrived from the Northeast, the first thing she did was to become a licensed real estate agent and she's been helping people's dreams come true ever since. That has not stopped her from traveling, living and working on six Continents and many islands in-between, including several years on her 37' sailboat. "Based upon those experiences and adventures, I can guarantee you that Vero Beach is absolutely, without a doubt, the BEST place to live, year round or seasonally." No one works harder for you! From the time of your first consultation with Kai, she springs into action to achieve your goals, while maintaining your best interests. It is this momentum which allows her to craft the best outcome for you. CLIENT FIRST PHILOSOPHY "There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional - integrity, in-depth market knowledge, effective negotiation skills, all of which you want in an agent. That said, I've also found that providing the very best service is essentially about helping clients and putting clients first. My success over the years is due to my belief that first I must find out what a person needs or wants, and then I must HELP them get it." When not helping clients, you will find Kai boating, sailing, fishing or visiting one of her favorite islands...Nantucket, Bermuda, or the Turks & Caicos. She also has a deep interest in animal welfare and rescued her Yorkie, "Tucker", who has traveled the world with her. As a full time Realtor, Kai is well positioned and has no personal obligations that will interfere with her performance. Put Kai's resources, vast marketing expertise, and cosmopolitan knowledge to work for you.
Former client: Being a school teacher, I found it too expensive to remain living in California. I contacted Kai Martin and asked her to search for a house for me. After an in-depth interview of what I wanted, she narrowed it down to 3 properties. I told her to select one, sight un-seen for me, from what she knew about me. I closed on the house without ever even seeing a photo, and 5 years later, I couldn't be happier. Now that's an agent you can trust! Marcia Johnson

Shelli Schinkus, Broker-Associate
Shelli Schinkus, formerly owner/broker of Harbor Real Estate, a specialized brokerage exclusively listing Oak Harbor properties, has joined forces with Alex MacWilliam, Inc. Real Estate. Shelli has specialized in the marketing and sales of properties in Vero Beach's casual, yet elegant senior living community of Oak Harbor since 2003. "While I do want to find you the best suited home or condo, my job is so much more than finding you a place to reside. It's about finding you or your loved one a community and lifestyle with choice and independence, while keeping in mind the comfort and security of today as well as tomorrow", says Shelli. Shelli, having gone through a traumatic accident in 2001, nearly leaving her paralyzed and in a home for rehabilitation purposes for a few months, has gone through trials and tribulations of living alone and having to cope with injuries. With that experience behind her, she truly believes in senior living communities and the peace of mind they offer to not only the resident but also to their families who are at ease knowing their parents are taken care of by having them reside in a community that offers services and amenities geared towards seniors and the situations they may face. "The people I sell a home to aren't just clients, they become family". Born in Nebraska and raised in Kansas, Shelli was drawn to Vero Beach in 1998 to work for the Disney Vacation Club at Disney's Vero Beach Resort. Aside from work, she enjoys working out at Jungle Club, softball, kayaking or camping and mountain biking anywhere actual mountains can be found.
